Local-first by design

playbooks.cool is a local-first workbench. Unlike cloud tools that upload your data to run, the app does its work where the work already lives — on your computer. That single design choice is what makes the rest of these guarantees possible: if the data doesn’t leave, it can’t be exposed in transit, retained by a vendor, or mixed with anyone else’s.

Work on a copy, approve before anything changes

When an agent runs, it operates on a safe copy of your data, not your originals. It comes back with the proposed changes, the sources behind them, and the decisions it made — in plain language. You can apply everything, keep only the useful parts, or reject it. Nothing changes until you say so, and every step is logged and reversible. This keeps a human in control and fits confidentiality and data-protection duties — for example attorney confidentiality and GDPR — rather than working around them.

AI model providers are your choice

The app can run with a local model, or you can connect an AI model provider (for example by adding your own API key). If you do, the prompts and content you send for that task are transmitted to that provider so it can generate a response, under that provider’s terms. You decide which provider, if any, to connect. We do not use your work to train our own or any third-party models.

Enterprise controls

Teams that need stricter guarantees can lock down network access and policy rules so agents can only reach approved destinations. Talk to us about Enterprise deployments and onboarding.

This website

The marketing site collects only what you send us through a form (for example your email address) and stores first-party theme and language preferences in your browser. It sets no tracking or advertising cookies. For the full detail, see our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. The service providers we use to run the website are listed in the privacy policy; we keep that list current and update it before any change takes effect.

Data protection & your rights

We operate under the GDPR as the controller for your personal data. You can access, correct, delete, or export your data, and object to or restrict certain processing. See Data Deletion for how to request erasure, or email privacy@playbooks.cool.
